Bagyong Luis news update as of 4:00 pm today September 13, 2014. Tropical Depression Luis has now entered the PAR and is now a Typhoon according to the reports of the weather bureau PAGASA.
News is issued by PAGASA at 5:00 p.m., 13 September 2014 Valid beginning: 5:00 p.m. today until 5:00 p.m. tomorrow September 14,2014.
At 4:00 pm today, Tropical Storm "Luis" was estimated based on all available data at 364 km northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (14.9ºN, 127.4ºE) Eastern Visayas with maximum sustained winds of 110 kph and gustiness of up to 140 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 20 kph.
Isabela and Cagayan will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas.The provinces of Apayao, Kalinga, Mt.Province, Ifugao, Nueva Viscaya, Quirino, Aurora and the islands of Calayan and Babuyan will experience rains with gusty winds. Bicol Region and the provinces of Samar and Quezon will be cloudy with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flasfloods and landslides. The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening, state forecasters predicted.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to west will prevail over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest to south with slight to moderate seas as PAGASA added.
