Bagyong Luis news update as of 5:00 am today September 15, 2014. Typhoon Luis is beginning it's descent out of PAR(Philippine Area of Responsibility according to the reports of the weather bureau PAGASA.
At 4:00 AM today, the eye of Typhoon "LUIS" was located based on all available data at 100 km West Northwest of Laoag City (18.4ºN, 119.7ºE) with maximum sustained winds of 120 kph and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 30 kph.
Day Forecast
The provinces of Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Ilocos Sur and Cagayan including Babuyan and Calayan group of islands will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. The provinces of Isabela, Benguet, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Pangasinan, La Union and Batanes group of islands will have rains with gusty winds.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience monsoon rains which may trigger flasfloods and landslides. Visayas and Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to south will prevail over the rest the country with moderate to rough seas.
