In the subject of May-December love affairs, 84-year-old actor Ivan Krasko has married 24-year-old Natalya Shevel last September 9th, in the Russian city of St. Petersburg. Krasko has appeared in a number of Russian films and television shows while Shevel was his former student. This couple’s pairing seems to be anything but conventional given their huge age difference and how their relationship started. But who wants a boring and conventional relationship anyway, right?
The odd couple met while Krasko was teaching a course at a university in St. Petersburg. Among the first things they shared was a mutual appreciation of poetry. Not long after they got closer, the two said they came to the realization that they “needed each other”. Shevel is reported to be Krasko’s fourth marriage, the previous one from a divorce finalized in 2011 with a woman allegedly 47 years his junior. Looks like our Russian leading man has an eye for the younger lovely ladies. Sources close to the couple have stated that they couldn’t be any happier.
While a number of critics have sounded off their doubts on this union even questioning their sexual compatibility and apparent inability to have kids, the couple defended themselves by saying that it’s not really anybody else’s business. Krasko is already blessed to have had six children with previous marriages and he claims that while he wishes his new bride could have his children, it is not a requirement in their relationship. Instead, the couple places emphasis on the special bond and companionship they have forged and plan on building for the years to come. The newly-hitched 24-year old also pleads to their bashers to just let them be happy together.
