Manila Philippines - The business outsourcing company Aegis Global's official website has been downed Thursday morning 12:30 am September 25, 2014 by alleged group Filipino hackers Phantom Hackers.PH and Lulzsec Pilipinas.
The attack is said to be the penultimate highlight following a series of alleged attacks made by same group. Yesterday Wednesday evening September 24, Aegis was apparently hacked before a massive data breach occurred.
A link to the database files of the controversial Malaysian call center firm was publicly shared on the Facebook page of the alleged hacktivist groups Phantom Hackers.PH and Lulzsec Pilipinas.
The massive data breach came less than a week following the released a controversial derogatory video that raised some eyebrows and infuriated Filipino netizens.
The controversial advertisement features Malaysia as an investment destination at the expense of the Philippines, citing among others "natural disasters," "inadequate infrastructure, less security, and lack of government support" as reasons.
Althought te infamous Business Process Outsourcing company had already issued a public statement and removed the video from YouTube and Facebook. However, damage has been done and it seems it has driven the Filipino hacktivists to launch the attack.
