Manila Philippines - A dance instructor was arrested for taking a picture of PBA veteran basketball player Danny Ildefonso while showering at the Meralco gym in Pasig City Tuesday. Ildefonso was apparently nude while the arrested culprit barged in.
Anthony Arnold Trinidad, 46, tried to escape after Ildefonso, who plays for Meralco Bolts, noticed him but was cornered by Meralco security guards Albino Barredo and Baltazar Antido.
According to news report, Ildefenso charged him for violation of Republic Act 9995 or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009 against Trinidad, Eastern Police District director Chief Superintendent Abe Villacorta said.
He said he heard a “clicking” sound. When he checked outside through the curtain, he caught Trinidad kneeling on the floor and taking his pictures.
When Ildefonso returned yesterday to the EPD headquarters for the formal filing of charges, Trinidad asked his forgiveness and promised to delete the nude photos on his iPod Touch, said Superintendent Abelardo Villacorta, chief of the Eastern Police District (EPD).
The suspect was released from detention after Ildefonso decided not to pursue the charges against Trinidad.
