Australia - Marlisa Punzalan has been crowned the The X Factor Australia 2014 winner after the public picked her over Dean Ray in the final show of the series.

The 15-year-old has won a recording contract after she was named as the winner of The X Factor Australia 2014 on Monday, October 20, 2013.
Brothers 3 placed 3rd.
The clear favourite before the announcement, Marlisa said to Telegraph that her dreams have come true. “I’ve got a lot of work ahead of me but I’m so happy, and I will make the most of this opportunity,” she added.
She did have words of thanks for supporters, gushing: “It’s probably the fans out west and the Filipinos. I am really grateful, I couldn’t have done it without them.”
On Monday, Punzalan, who was mentored by Ronan Keating throughout the competition, performed ‘Titanium’ as her best moment song after being called as one of the Top 2 on the last day of the grand finale episodes.
Marlisa Punzalan took home the grand prize and the recording contract deal with Sony Music Australia.
Before the announcement of winner, Telegraph revealed that until early Monday, Punzalan was tracking third in votes and many wrote her off as an impossible chance to win. Even in the final hours of voting she only firmed to place second behind Ray.
