PHOTO: Uploader Of The Andrea Brillantes Scandal Video That Was Indentified By NBI Untrue

Manila, Philippines- Over the weekend, the alleged video of Andrea Brillantes Scandal went viral and links regarding the clip sprouted like mushrooms on leading social media sites.
One link in particular caught everyone's attention when a certain Facebook page deemed Kupal Lord announced through a post that the search is over and the person who uploaded the video scandal of Andrea Brillantes has been identified by the authorities.

The dubious link was apparently connected to the Facebook Profile of the Uploader. The report caught on and fooled concerned citizens as it garnered thousand of likes and shares.

Here's the post of Kupal Lord read:

“As of this moment na-trace na po ng mga otoridad ang ip address ng nag upload ng kumakalat na video. Napakawalang puso!!!”  (As of this moment, authorities have already traced the IP address of the person who uploaded the viral video. Heartless!!! )

Why is this Report Fake/ Hoax?

The post attached the uploader’s profile that hid in a unique URL (http://facebook.com/profile.php?=73322363) and looked like it could be a URL for anyone's Facebook profile, but actually takes it to anyone logged into Facebook to their own profile page.

Like everyone else I've been tricked too as it made my palms sweaty and gave me mini heart attack as soon as I saw that the link is my facebook profile. I even commented and defended my commented on the posts telling everyone it was not me.

Why is the post so believable and where did the NBI Sketch of the suspect came from?

After doing my research, the photo used by Kupal Lord was real and authentic but it was the sketch report NBI releases not connected to the video uploader rather the suspects in Solijon murder on September 3, 2013 posted by the PCIJ BLOG.

Although Kupal Lords' fake report did not mention any name or even the 12-year-old actress Andrea Brillantes or her sister it seems that it was likely too fool anyone that it was related to the viral story.

Kupal Lord, clearly surfaced the fake news to fool people and make fun out of the issue which is somehow successful where commenters shared their feelings and reactions regarding the identification of the uploaders.

The false news report should serve all the netizens a lesson to be wary of the things they see on the internet and do a little research to ensure that its real. You could share this article to provide information to others and give them a little heads up.
