Even before the dawn of the internet, there have already been a number of stories and hoaxes floated around for plain entertainment. Among these, perhaps there has been none more infamous and widespread as the story of the snake-man from Robinson’s Galleria malls.

It was rumored that an alleged snake-like man was lurking somewhere within the grounds of Robinson’s Galleria, spying on unknowing ladies in the dressing rooms. The mysterious predator was said to have access to the mall’s CCTV cameras waiting for its next victim. As if that wasn't scary enough, rumor had it that whenever attractive female patrons of the store were inside the dressing rooms, said snake-man would flip a switch causing the floor of the changing rooms to collapse and bring the unsuspecting prey to him. However, there have been no clear accounts as to what exactly happened to the victims of the alleged monstrous stalker as well as his whereabouts.

One of the rumored victims of this monster was said to be actress Alice Dixon, who was rather well-known even then for her beauty and appeal. The snake-man allegedly took a liking to the actress and brought her to his hidden lair. According to these stories, Robinson’s Galleria management allegedly offered a large sum of money in return for the actress’ silence. However, to this day both the management of Robinson’s and Ms. Dixon have expressly denied and dismissed this story as a ludicrous and malicious hoax.

Ms. Dixon has more than once told her fans that she has no idea where this outrageous story came from. She even joked about warding off unwanted attention away from her legs and skin for any signs of snake scales due to this false incident.

Hoax or otherwise, this story surely made its rounds across the entertainment and business industry. What once was cast as either black propaganda against Robinson’s stores or false publicity for actress Dixon has undoubtedly made entertainment history by not only going viral but also achieving the ultimate urban myth fame by enduring through the years.
